- coordinate the implementation of the Provincial Growth & Yield Program, including development of long-term strategic direction, setting annual targets, negotiating funding and staff resources, directing information management activities, work planning and financial management - work collaboratively with other sections in the branch and divisions within MNR to coordinate the development and implementation - provide advice on implementing affordable, practical, and relevant inventory monitoring and assessment projects - facilitate the development and transfer of growth and yield products, and review and approve tools used in resource management planning across the province - provide leadership on issues involving forest management across the province What you bring to the team Mandatory requirements - You must have a valid class 'G' driver's licence or equivalent, as recognized by the Province of Ontario. The offer of employment is conditional upon the successful candidate providing proof that they have a valid driver's licence upon being hired.




- You must possess a Registered Professional Forester (RPF) designation from the Ontario Professional Foresters Association or the ability to transfer designation from out-of-province, and be able to practice professional forestry without professional supervision.

Technical expertise

- You have knowledge of relevant forest legislation policies, procedures and programs.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of resource management practices, guideline requirements and planning tools, and forest management planning, particularly as related to forest inventory, monitoring, modelling and assessment.
- You have proven knowledge and understanding of growth and yield and forest mensuration, as well as related scientific theories, methods, practices and principles.
- You have knowledge of geographical information systems principles and application in resource management. Analytical and problem-solving skills:
- You have strong critical thinking and assessment skills related to science and technical options to address business needs and the ability to develop program business cases.
- You have the ability to analyze and evaluate complex products (e.g. yield curve functions, growth models, succession dynamics), make recommendations and resolve issues.

Interpersonal and communication skills

- You have conflict resolution skills to be able to bring contrary views to consensus.
- You can work independently and in a team environment.
- You have strong interpersonal and communication skills, and are able to provide team leadership and facilitation to a provincial team working in multiple locations.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills to speak at meetings,



give presentations and prepare reports.

Program and project management

- You have the ability to effectively facilitate task groups to bring in products on time within the framework of a larger project.
