LK Psychotherapy & Clinical Services is expanding and is seeking a skilled, values-aligned Independent Contractor Therapist to join our growing practice.

Our clinic is grounded in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive, and relational approaches to therapy. We work with individuals, couples and families, with a strong commitment to equity, cultural humility, and social justice. We provide group counselling, workshops, trainings, consulting and other community engagements.

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Clinical Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide mental health services, support patient care, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to promote well‑being. This role involves working with diverse patient populations, including youth and families and requires a strong understanding of trauma and its clinical treatments.

The Clinical

Therapist will play a vital role in delivering evidence‑based interventions and supporting patients through their treatment journeys.

We welcome clinicians from a variety of clinical backgrounds who value providing thoughtful, ethical, and evidence‑informed care.

Areas of interest that complement our current team include:

- Psychological assessment
- Children (12+) and youth
- Couples or family therapy
- Trauma‑focused modalities (EMDR, IFS, somatic approaches)
- Neurodiversity‑informed care
- Parenting support
- Group therapy
- Any specialty or niche that supports meaningful client outcomes

We value clinicians who are comfortable working as part of a team environment and participating in peer consultation, meetings, and ongoing professional development.

Duties

- Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions tailored to patient needs.




- Collect and analyze data related to patient progress and treatment outcomes.
- Assist in research initiatives aimed at improving clinical practices and patient care strategies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of therapy sessions, assessments, and treatment plans in compliance with confidentiality standards.
- Educate families and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies.
- Is ideally bilingual , with priority given to therapists who offer services in French (If you are not, still apply!)
- Is able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative, respectful team culture.
- Is available to offer in‑person sessions in Belleville, Ontario and virtual therapy .

Requirements

- Demonstrated skills in clinical assessment, treatment planning, and evidence‑informed psychotherapy (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma‑focused, EMDR, or other modalities).
- Experience providing trauma‑informed, culturally sensitive, and anti‑oppressive care to diverse individuals, couples, families, and communities.
- Ability to work effectively with concerns such as trauma, workplace stress/violence, interpersonal issues, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and military family stressors.
- Strong communication, active listening, and rapport‑building skills,



with the ability to maintain clear qualified boundaries.
- Comfort with virtual care platforms, basic technology, and electronic documentation, including secure note‑keeping and scheduling.
- Proven organizational and time‑management skills, including managing a caseload, maintaining timely documentation, and working independently.
- Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient support.

Qualifications

- Doctoral or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or related field
- Registration in good standing with the CPO, CRPO, OCSWSSW, or other relevant regulatory College
- Interest in providing in‑person services in Belleville, Ontario
- 60/40 Fee Structure ($60-135/hr)
- Flexible scheduling with the ability to build a caseload at your own pace.
- Part‑time to start (minimum 5-10 hours/week), with the potential to grow to full‑time depending on availability and client demand.
