Role Description

The Psychotherapist is a contract, virtual role with eventual move to hybrid, located in the Greater Oshawa Metropolitan Area. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

- Providing individual and group psychotherapy sessions, conducting intake assessments, and developing personalized treatment plans for neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ clients.

- The role involves maintaining accurate clinical documentation, collaborating with internal and external care providers, and participating in case consultations.

- The Psychotherapist will support clients in life skills development and job readiness as part of an integrated care approach, while maintaining ethical, culturally responsive, and trauma-informed practices.

- Additional duties may include contributing to program development, community outreach,



and continuous professional learning.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in Psychology and Mental Health, with the ability to apply evidence-informed therapeutic approaches.

- Advanced Counseling skills, including experience with individual and group therapy, and Relationship Counseling.

- Understanding of Medicine as it relates to mental health, including awareness of psychopharmacology and interdisciplinary collaboration.

- Experience working with neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities, with a commitment to anti-oppressive, trauma-informed, and culturally competent practice.

- Excellent communication, active listening, and documentation skills, with the ability to manage a clinical caseload ethically and effectively.

- Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Counseling Psychology, Social Work, Clinical Psychology) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Is registered and in good standing with their Ontario regulatory college (e.g., CRPO, OCSWSSW, or other appropriate regulator).

- Maintains their own professional liability insurance.

- Practices from a neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed, and LGBTQIA2S+-affirming perspective.

- Wants to make a meaningful impact in the lives of neurodivergent and queer communities.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and participate in supervision, peer consultation, and ongoing professional development.
