Principal‑Level UX Designer – AI Transformation
We are looking for a Principal‑Level UX Designer to partner with the VP of Research, Analytics and Design to architect an AI‑driven transformation across a multidisciplinary enterprise. This role focuses on both internal tool enablement and external product design execution, ensuring that the solutions are scalable, beautiful, and intuitive. Responsibilities
Lead internal transformation by building a modern, AI‑savvy design team and operating structure. Translate team pain points into scalable, modern operating models, mitigating friction and promoting efficiency. Design and build agentic tools, custom agents, and workflows that accelerate internal design workflows. Elevate internal craftsmanship by infusing design mastery into internal tools and processes. Lead product execution for high‑stakes initiatives, applying expertise in AI workflows and data to the core Workday product suite. Deliver uncompromised design mastery across diverse user types and scenarios, turning complex enterprise requirements into trusted experiences. Qualifications – Basic
12+ years as a UX Designer or UX Operations professional with a track record of leading design vision and initiatives. 5+ years experience on a design team that leverages AI‑powered features and workflows. Bachelor’s degree in Design, HCI with design focus, or related field (Master’s preferred or equivalent practical experience). Qualifications – Preferred
Principal-level understanding of business competence and ability to align UX design vision with company goals. Proven experience defining scalable operating structures, eliminating friction, and transforming workflows for large cross‑functional teams. Robust cross‑functional teamwork skills and experience influencing PM and Engineering stakeholders on major design initiatives. Mastery in decision making for complex strategic design matters, balancing user needs, business goals, and long‑term strategy. Expertise in stakeholder influence and storytelling to communicate design vision, user insights, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership. Deep technical acumen regarding AI and its impact on UX operations and design strategy. Deep mastery of UX design principles and methodologies. Workday Pay Transparency Statement
