Position Overview
As a Reception Support Volunteer, you will assist with various administrative tasks and ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the reception area. You will help maintain a clean and welcoming environment for staff, visitors, and clients. This role is ideal for individuals with strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily reception duties, including answering phone inquiries, checking voicemails, receiving mail, and ensuring visitors and volunteers sign in/out.
- Provide general information to callers and visitors.
- Greet and assist guests and family members visiting the long-term care centers with inquiries.
- Perform additional administrative tasks as assigned.
Qualifications And Requirements
- Must be at least 16 years of age. However, some roles may require a higher level of maturity or prefer adult candidates.
- Robust communication skills in English, Cantonese,
or Mandarin are required. However, certain roles may require the ability to interact with residents in their native languages.
- Successful completion of the Tuberculosis (TB) screening and Vulnerable Sector Screening.
- A genuine interest in helping residents with compassion, understanding, and patience.
- Demonstrated dependability, initiative, flexibility, and reliability.
- Willingness to attend additional training as needed.
Commitment & Locations
- Available Monday to Sunday for 3-4 hour shifts or as assigned.
- A minimum commitment of 6 months is required.
- The position will be at the Mon Sheong Stouffville Long-Term Care Centre (162 Sandiford Drive, Whitchurch-Stouffville, ON).

Volunteer Requirements
- Willing to undergo a background or police records check
- Minimum 16 years old
- Willing to complete medical forms
- Fluent in Cantonese or Mandarin
- Wiling to undergo a Tuberculosis (TB) test
