SUMMARY The Talent Acquisition Specialist leads the recruitment process and provides support to managers in the recruitment process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Support the full-cycle recruitment process for multiple positions across various locations. Lead and organize career fairs from implementation to final metric reporting. Proactively source and maintain a pool of qualified candidates.
Execute recruiting plans to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s). Conduct intake calls with hiring managers to identify staffing needs, job duties, and qualifications. Communicate and engage with candidates to verify qualifications, work preferences, and align with business needs.
Create job postings and assist with the creation of job descriptions. Review and evaluate applicant qualifications and licensing according to established guidelines. Conduct pre-screen qualification interviews, coordinate in-person interviews, and attend interviews as required.
Schedule pre-employment medical testing and coordinate background checks. Respond to questions and assist candidates throughout the recruitment process. Extend offer letters and facilitate successful onboarding.
Track and maintain recruitment and hiring metrics. Maintain current knowledge of human rights and employment standards guidelines and regulations. Use social media and professional networking outlets to identify and source candidates.
Create a strategic plan with the hiring manager to ensure vacancies are filled in a timely manner. Research and recommend recent recruiting procedures or technology for adding more value to the recruiting department, by making process and procedures more effective and efficient. Provide support to other members of the talent acquisition team when required.
All other duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS Diploma in Human Resources required or equivalent experience. Minimum 2 years’ experience in full-cycle recruitment, transportation industry would be an asset.
Knowledge of the transportation industry and applicable regulations required. Bilingual in English and French considered an asset. Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Experience with MS Office Suite required.
Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS);
experience with Dayforce considered an asset. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and within a team environment. Exceptional conflict resolution, negotiation, and objection handling skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality is required.
WORKING CONDITIONS 40-hour workweek, Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. Travel through terminal network and to job fairs required. Shift flexibility and overtime may be required.
