Registered Nurse (RAI Coordinator) - Temporary part-time for 6 months, with possibility of extension

Plans and organizes the RAI project in the Home, provides RAI-MDS education and on-site support to all RAI users in the Home, develops and ensures data accuracy and data submission in a timely manner, and attend RAI Assessment Project education sessions.

Qualifications:

- Registered Nurse with current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Experience in nursing and staff supervision an asset
- Current CPR Certificate
- Good leadership skills
- Demonstrated initiative, problem solving and judgement skills.
- Superb customer service skills
- Computer literacy
- Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen result
- Ability to converse in Chinese an asset.

Responsibilities:

- Manages and oversees the implementation of RAI in the Home
- Provides RAI-MDS 2.0 and HOBIC education and computer training to staff
- Acts as a resource to interdisciplinary team members in the Home
- Develops processes to ensure MDS data accuracy, productive data collection process, assessment completion and data utilization
- Conducts regular audits of MDS assignment and monitors data accuracy
- Submits MDS data to CIHI according to prescribed timeline
- Downloads and retrieves reports from CIHI MDS database as required for Professional Advisory Committee, PCC RAI/MDS Committee and as needed by the Executive Director and/or his/her designate
- Liaises with MOH Inspector and provides resident information from CIHI MDS database as needed
- Implements effective risk management and quality improvement programs, including infection control, occupational health and safety, incidents and falls, etc
- Participates in nursing-related committees as appropriate
- Supervises activities of students, as assigned,



in accordance with the College of Nursing of Ontario's Accountability Standards for Nurses Working with Students
- Provides job shadowing or mentorship to members of the health care team, as assigned
- Keeps up-to-date with developments and best practices in the field
- Other duties as assigned

Physical Demands/Working Condition:

This position is temporary part-time for 6 months, with possibility of extension Considerable standing, walking, lifting and bending. Exposure to all resident care elements through regular resident contact. Shift work, including days, evenings, nights and weekends.

Salary Range: $35.39 - $50.85
