and corporate income tax, and coordinate external audits with auditors and tax advisors.Design, implement, and monitor financial internal controls as well as governance and risk management.Participate in preparing the annual budget and financial forecasts, and analyze budget variances.Oversee cost accounting related to manufacturing operations (manufacturing costs, inventory, and margins by product line).Lead, engage, and develop the members of the accounting team in a collaborative and rigorous environment.Profile sought for the Director of Accounting:Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in accounting, including at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.Minimum of 3 to 5 years in an accounting firm.Experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting, a significant asset.English: Perfect written and verbal command.French language skills, both verbal and written, are an asset — a plus for working with our francophone colleagues and employees.Skills sought for the Director of Accounting:Solid knowledge of ASPE (Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises).In‑depth knowledge of Canadian federal and Quebec tax legislation.Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or equivalent) and advanced skills in Excel and financial analysis.Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.Strong communication skills with management and key stakeholders.Results‑oriented and able to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.Integrity, discretion, a strong sense of ethics, and an initiative‑driven focus on continuous improvement.Garaga is an equal opportunity employer and applies an employment equity program for women, Indigenous peoples, visible minorities, and persons with disabilities.
