About The OpportunityOur client, a well established architectural and interior design firm, is seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer to join its growing team. This is an exciting opportunity for an accomplished design professional with a passion for creating innovative commercial workplace environments while leading multidisciplinary project teams from concept through completion.ResponsibilitiesLead commercial interior design and workplace projects from concept through construction completionDevelop creative design solutions that align with client objectives, schedules, and budgetsGather, analyze, and document client requirementsPrepare space plans, design concepts, finish selections, furniture specifications, and presentation materialsLead client meetings, presentations, and design workshopsCoordinate project schedules, deliverables, and multidisciplinary project teamsMentor and provide technical guidance to intermediate and junior designersReview design documentation to ensure quality and compliance with company standardsPrepare and oversee construction documentation and contract administration activitiesReview shop drawings and manage change documentationAttend construction site meetings and coordinate with contractors and consultantsPrepare meeting minutes, progress reports, certificates for payment, and other project documentationMaintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliersSupport business development activities and contribute to securing repeat businessEnsure compliance with applicable building codes, industry standards,
and project requirementsGovernment Furniture Procurement experience preferredContract Administration experience preferredAbout YouEducation and TrainingBachelor's Degree in Interior Design from a CIDA accredited program or equivalent education recognized by ARIDONCIDQ certificationRegistered member of ARIDOLEED AP, WELL AP, and/or Fitwel Ambassador designation would be considered strong assetsExperienceMinimum of 10 years of commercial interior design experience within a recognized Canadian architecture or interior design firmExtensive workplace design experienceDemonstrated experience leading projects from concept through construction completionStrong experience with client presentations, project management, contract administration, and construction documentationExperience reviewing shop drawings, managing change orders, and coordinating consultants and contractorsStrong understanding of furniture systems, finish selections, budgeting, and specificationsThorough knowledge of the Ontario Building CodeTechnical SkillsAdvanced AutoCAD skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and MS ProjectExperience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesignExperience using SketchUp and Revit is considered an assetStrong knowledge of construction documentation and detailingExcellent space planning and workplace planning skillsKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesStrong understanding of colour theory, materials, finishes, and interior aestheticsAdvanced knowledge of interior architectural detailingExcellent sketching and rendering abilitiesStrong knowledge of furnishings, equipment, and workplace environmentsOutstanding organizational and time management skillsExceptional verbal, written, and presentation skillsProven ability to build robust relationships with clients and project stakeholdersDemonstrated leadership and mentoring abilitiesAbility to balance multiple projects and competing priorities while maintaining exceptional attention to detailPassion for design excellence and collaborative problem solvingAbout the JobPosition Type: PermanentLocation: Ottawa, OntarioCompensation: $80,000 to $110,000.00Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision#J-18808-Ljbffr
