The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Position Title. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-timeposition is for approximately 7 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

3D Asset and Simulation Training Development for Pathology Based Training Programs.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

- Maintain and support operation of 3D printing and scanning equipment used within the project

- Produce 3D-printed moulds and related simulation materials for educational activities

- Fabricate silicone and gelatin-based synthetic pathology specimens, including larynx, tongue, thyroid, and Whipple procedure models

- Digitize specimens using 3D scanning technology and manage associated digital files

- Assist with development and refinement of simulation curricula and educational resources

- Support planning, setup, delivery, and facilitation of simulation workshops

- Conduct literature reviews and assist with educational research activities as required

- Collect, organize, manage, and clean project data

- Assist in analysis and interpretation of project outcomes, including basic statistical analyses

- Prepare documentation, reports, summaries, and other project-related materials

- Participate in project meetings and collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and project stakeholders

- Maintain laboratory, simulation, and work environments in a safe and organized manner

- Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of project equipment and supplies

- Establish and maintain productive working relationships with project team members and stakeholders

- Manage workload effectively and communicate project progress to supervisors as required.

Qualifications / Requirements:

- Bachelors Degree

- Specialized certification ‿ Masters of Pathologists Assistant

- Minimum 1 year of technical experience and completion of post-secondary education in related discipline

- Experience with 3D printing technologies and 3D scanning systems

- Experience fabricating physical models or simulation materials





- Experience supporting simulation-based learning activities or curriculum development

- Experience working in a pathology, surgical pathology, laboratory, or educational research environment

- Familiarity with statistical software and data analysis methodologies

- Experience with research methods, data collection, data management, and basic statistical analysis

- Solid organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment

- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite

- Ability to learn and apply new technical procedures and technologies

- Knowledge of applicable health and safety procedures and WHMIS requirements
