Responsibilities
- Handle customer needs, either by supporting requests for improvements or by solving in-service mechanical problems.
- Respond to urgent grounded aircraft (AOG) situations.
- Analyze and produce repair engineering orders (REO), non-incorporated engineering orders (NIEO) and/or kit drawings.
- Review engineering designs and actively participate in the development and integration of in-service solutions.
- Organize investigations into service issues,
determine the root cause of a failure and devise effective and innovative solutions.
- Use judgment and initiative to recognize the implications of proposed solutions on other aircraft systems and installations.
- Support preliminary installations of service bulletins (proofs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering or equivalent working experience.
- Five (5) to ten (10) years of experience with aircraft structure/systems.
- Knowledge of CATIA V5 (2D & 3D), AutoCAD and MS Office; Siemens NX is an asset.
- Autonomous, capable of working with minimum supervision.
- Valuable project management skills and understanding of the impact of deliverables on project schedules.
- Curiosity and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to quickly absorb information and learn to support various requests.
- Open-minded and adaptable to change.
- Team player with a spirit of innovation, professionalism and commitment.
- Good oral and written French and English skills to interact with customers and stakeholders and lead discussions.
- Knowledge of aircraft certification (Type Design and Supplemental Type Design, major repairs/modifications, etc.) is an asset.
