Overview Sacred Heart Catholic School is located in Williams Lake, BC. The school enrolls approximately 110 students from Kindergarten to Grade Seven. For the 2026‑2027 school year, we are seeking a skilled, qualified candidate to join our team as a 1.0 FTE Elementary School Principal.

This position commences August 1, 2026, and concludes July 31, 2027, however, continuation into a permanent position may be possible based on performance. The Principal plays a critical role in supporting the mission, vision and values in the life of this Catholic school community and works collaboratively with the Administrative team under the direction of the Superintendent.

Responsibilities The Principal is responsible for leading the elementary school, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment, overseeing instructional programs, managing staff, and upholding Catholic faith and values in all aspects of school life.

Qualifications - Active membership in a Catholic parish - A demonstrated commitment to and passion for excellence in Catholic education - Minimum of 5 successful years of prior elementary level teaching experience,



preferably within BC Catholic schools - Strong understanding and application of CISKD and BC Ministry of Education priorities, policies and procedures - Experience using creative teaching methods in primary and intermediate classrooms, including remote learning experiences and the ability to support and supervise others - Model and assist in the supervision of teachers related to best practice in instructional planning, assessment and evaluation - Commitment to ongoing professional development aligned with school, Ministry and CISKD priorities - Ability to adapt practice when faced with the ever-shifting needs of today’s education system - Valid TRB certification - Commitment to provide leadership of extracurricular activities - A Master’s degree in a related educational field of study, or a commencement or ongoing pursuit of such studies Additional Requirements - BC Catholic School Leadership Course - Foundations of the Faith Program - Further evidence of lifelong learning
