Eng.) to join the Toronto/GTA team. The successful individual will develop, manage, and lead projects for the construction of new or modification of existing commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings and structures. Ideally, you have experience on heavy industrial capital construction projects focused on wastewater, transit, subway/LRT, and infrastructure.This is a project leadership role, so Arcadis is seeking a well‐experienced structural professional who can build robust professional relationships with internal and external teams and stakeholders while working in a dynamic project environment. Robust technical and communication skills are essential.If you are interested in exploring this role, please submit your resume and project list for consideration.Role accountabilitiesLead, collaborate, and provide direction to the Engineering and CAD teams to ensure the teams can successfully deliver the project requirements to the client.Coordinate structural design and construction with other disciplines.Collaborate with external stakeholders and clients. Attend meetings with clients and stakeholders as needed and when required.Deliver structural modelling, analysis, and design, including the preparation and review of structural reports and drawings.
This will also include reviewing constructability, staging drawings, construction schedules, and cost estimates.Identify structural deficiencies and provide remedial options.Review construction submittals.Conduct periodic site reviews to ensure construction complies with design intent and codes.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 10 years of relevant experience in structural design.Project leadership focused on structural design on heavy industrial projects or complex capital construction projects such as transit, wastewater, subway/LRT.Proven robust technical skills related to problem solving, analytical review, building codes and standards, and deep knowledge of leading a project through the process and coordinating with a range of multi‐disciplinary professionals and stakeholders.Experience working at project sites with on‐site professionals.Strong communication and negotiation skills with an ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; able to independently write reports and correspondence.Software skills related to: SAP2000, ROBOT, RISA, RFEM, ETABS, PROTECTED, Bluebeam, Acrobat, MS Office.
Proficiency in Plaxis 3D is an asset.Professional Engineer Registration in Ontario or another Canadian province.A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering; a Master's degreein Structural Engineering is an asset.We can only achieve our goals when everyone is empowered to be their best. The base salary represents Arcadis' hiring range for this position.
