Join School District No. 10 as a School Counsellor for the 2026-2027 school year at Nakusp Elementary. This half-time role focuses on delivering social-emotional learning and supporting student mental health. The 0.5 FTE position is structured to enhance student well-being and resilience within a vibrant learning community.
You will provide preventive and responsive mental health services and coordinate support with community agencies. Successful candidates will have experience in teaching and counselling, contributing to a collaborative educational setting. Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate referrals and collaborate with community partners
- Assess students' social and emotional needs using FBAs
- Build positive relationships with students and parents Requirements:
- Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
- Master’s degree in counselling psychology or related field
- At least 3 years of successful teaching experience
- Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures
