Why is this role important?

The Senior Analyst plays a key role in organizing and leveraging the pan-Canadian data CIHI holds. This may involve data management, developing and maintaining data and information standards (e.g., methodologies, indicators, and statistics), preparing relevant documentation, providing client support, assessing data quality, producing statistics, fulfilling custom data requests, conducting analysis and contributing to analytical reports. The Senior Analyst participates in department/branch projects and initiatives, as well as other special projects as required.

What you'll do

1. Work with the Lead to manage CIHI data, ensuring it is fit for purpose, and to support the production of key deliverables for internal and external dissemination. Key deliverables include relevant documentation, data tables, custom data requests, and topical analytical reports.
2. Conduct data management and analytical activities including writing and updating statistical code required for the development,



computation, analysis, and/or verification of key deliverables. This may include support for the release of data and information through private and public reporting tools, including leading the execution of test strategies / test cases to ensure accuracy of the reported results in adherence with CIHI's corporate information quality framework.
3. Maintain detailed knowledge of data, tools, and analytical techniques used to produce standard and ad-hoc outputs.
4. Conduct environmental scans and literature reviews to support the development of reports, statistics, and indicators.
5. Contribute to the development of materials (e.g., analytical reports, methodology or technical notes, presentations, educational, media, etc.) for dissemination of findings and knowledge translation, and reviews written products for analytic accuracy and quality.
