Responsibilities
- Provides maintenance engineering support to the Maintenance division and other CMBC departments on matters relating to the safe, effective and cost‑effective repair and overhaul of fleet vehicles.
- Ensures fleet vehicles comply with provincial and federal standards and that related equipment is certified and approved by WorkSafeBC or other regulatory bodies.
- Assists Maintenance Engineers, technical support staff, and supervisory personnel on a variety of maintenance engineering projects, studies, test programs and evaluations related to vehicles, components, tooling, test and diagnostic equipment, and associated infrastructure, under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registered in British Columbia.
- Provides project‑management support for bus procurement projects on behalf of CMBC.
- Assists the Warranty Administrator on various claim issues.
- Liaises with vendors to discuss equipment or component failures or problems.
- Liaises with various transit properties and outside agencies concerning matters of mutual concern and gives presentations at seminars and conferences as required.
Education & Qualifications
- University degree in Engineering (appropriate discipline) from a recognized institution.
- Engineer‑in‑Training designation from Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EGBC).
Experience
- Six (6) months in a heavy‑equipment or industrial environment related to commercial or heavy‑duty vehicle maintenance repair.
- One (1) year in the position required to become familiar with CMBC policies and procedures.
Work Schedule & Designation
- Resident – works predominantly on‑site.
- 37.5 hours per week.
Rate of Pay & Benefits
- Salary: $85,836 – $103,417 per annum (actual salary commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
