About the Role

Working closely with the Director, Culture and Heritage, you'll help lead the strategic direction and day-to-day operations of the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre. You'll oversee public education, museum collections and conservation, exhibit development, visitor services, and museum operations while building partnerships with Indigenous governments, community organizations, schools, tourism partners, and stakeholders across the Northwest Territories.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide strategic leadership for public programming, visitor services, exhibits, and museum operations
- Lead public education, community outreach, and engagement initiatives that connect Northerners with their history and culture
- Oversee museum collections, conservation, exhibit planning, and building operations
- Develop partnerships with Indigenous organizations, schools, tourism operators, and community stakeholders
- Support strategic planning, operational planning, budgeting,



and policy development for the Culture and Heritage Division
- Lead projects and initiatives that enhance visitor experiences and promote the Prince of Wales Northern Heritage Centre

Qualifications Required

- A degree in Museum Studies, Education, Anthropology, or a related field
- Five (5) years of experience working in a museum, archives, or other cultural institution
- One (1) year of supervisory or team lead experience
- Examples of cultural institutions include heritage centres, science centres, and art galleries.
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
