Key Responsibilities

- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on bins, compaction systems, and baler equipment
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues related to truck bins and plant equipment
- Assist in maintaining operational readiness and uptime of recycling and waste handling machinery
- Maintain and update service records, inspection logs, and equipment history
- Work collaboratively with operations and fleet teams to coordinate downtime and maintenance schedules
- Identify parts and materials required for repairs and liaise with procurement for sourcing
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with GFL’s safety standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines

Requirements

- Valid Industrial Millwright (433A) Certification in Ontario
- 3+ years of millwright experience in a maintenance or industrial setting (waste/recycling industry preferred)
- Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Experience working with waste bins, compactors, balers, or similar mechanical equipment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills




- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Must be safety-conscious and familiar with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
