The Town of Milton is proud to deliver high-quality, sustainable municipal services that support a vibrant, inclusive, and forward-looking community where residents thrive, businesses succeed, and nature is respected and protected.Our vision is to foster a safe, diverse, and welcoming environment—one that honours its natural landscapes and rich heritage, supports thriving and inclusive neighbourhoods, nurtures a strong and balanced economy, and offers exceptional opportunities to live, learn, work, and play.What We Offer?This position is eligible for the following:Starting Hourly Rate: $29.04Benefits: Employee Assistance Program and option to participate in the OMERS pension planEmployee perks/discounts: Discount on Active Living Pass and PerkopolisFor further details of what we offer,Position SummaryUnder the direct supervision of the Supervisor, Licensing & Enforcement, Compliance this position is responsible for the enforcement and administration of municipal by-laws including but not limited to the Town’s Parks, Noise, Road Occupancy, Community Standards, and Parking by-laws.Major Job ResponsibilitiesKey Responsibilities Include:Provide the public, and internal and external parties with information and assistance on related areas of enforcement including Town by-laws and policies, Provincial Acts and regulations and other information as appropriateBuild positive relationships with residents, businesses, and community groups by promoting awareness of Town by-laws, policies, and compliance expectations through Town of Milton programs such as Be a Valuable Neighbour.Conducts foot and vehicle patrols for assigned areas, responds to, and documents all inquiries and complaints from the public,



and law enforcement agencies with respect to the enforcement and administration of municipal by-laws under the authority of the Municipal Act. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Patrolling on-street and off-street parking areas, identifying and investigating by-law infractions.Monitoring compliance, responding to complaints and requests for enforcement of parking prohibitionsIssuing parking infraction noticesCoordinates towing of unauthorized vehicles in accordance with Halton Region Police and Tow PoliciesCreating, opening and updating electronic filesAbility to collect investigative records, including detailed written notes, photographic documentation, and any other evidence necessary to support enforcement actions.Prepares compliance documentation for violations including notices, orders and investigative reports.Serves notices stating specific defects to property owners or occupants and advises of remedial measures required to comply with Town legislationIssues Part 2 offence notices and administrative penaltiesPrepares tribunal documentation and presents evidence regarding municipal enforcement mattersEducation & ExperienceMinimum QualificationsPost secondary diploma/ degreeMinimum 1 year experience in an enforcement related roleCertified Municipal Law Enforcement Officer or able to obtain Certification within three yearsA valid Ontario Driver’s License Class G with a satisfactory driving recordSatisfactory Criminal Record check is requiredStrong problem-solving skills,



and proven ability to resolve disputes in a manner that supports a high level of customer servicePreferred QualificationsCertificate/diploma in Police Studies/ Foundations, Law & Security, Justice & Administration or related fieldExperience in enforcement processes as it relates to municipal and provincial legislationExperience interpreting by-laws and provincial legislation pertaining to municipal law enforcement and licensingKnowledge of the Provincial Offences Act (POA) and administrative penalty noticesProficient in Windows based software, enforcement tracking software and parking control softwareNote to ApplicantsThis posting is for an existing job vacancyThe Town is an equal opportunity employer, committed to fostering a diverse, inclusive, accessible, and respectful workplace.
