Coordinate the work of Electrical Engineers with the balance of a multi‑discipline team throughout the entire project's development Establish client relations and participate in the marketing, design and production meetings regarding electrical systems Assume the electrical lead on many projects Conduct schematic, design development and contract document work sessions at the project site in conjunction with the Project Manager, Project Architect and other disciplines Coordinate workload through the entire project development to complete documents on schedule Track the financial aspects of projects and adjust the work effort with the team to ensure completion within the agreed‑upon schedule Work with the Project Manager and Regional Controller for project reviews with corporate management as needed Direct the activities of other electrical engineering professionals and act as a mentor to other staff members as needed Review electrical documents for areas of conflict with all disciplines Write and edit electrical specifications; select equipment, electrical systems and devices Coordinate with and assist affected disciplines with addenda, RFIs and change orders, incorporating agreed‑upon changes into the project documents Produce and coordinate several projects concurrently Provide construction contract administration as needed Conduct QA/QC on the work of other Electrical Project Engineers,
Electrical Project Coordinators or Electrical CAD Technicians as needed Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis Minimum of 10 years experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems) Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems Solid computer knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD and electrical design software Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis Previous experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm desired Data Centre, Semiconductor, Healthcare, Laboratory or Sports facilities experience Experience using AI productivity tools to accelerate project workstreams, including technical writing, code and specification research, and performance simulation and modelling Ability to rigorously audit, validate, and verify all AI‑generated outputs against core electrical engineering fundamentals and regulations Will to relocate to Calgary if selected Employment Equity
