Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead (Building Engineering)

Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer / Electrical Team Lead to establish and grow their Electrical Engineering department. This is a rare leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial professional who enjoys building teams, leading projects, mentoring engineers, and helping shape the future of a growing multidisciplinary consulting engineering firm.

What You'll Be Doing

- Establish, develop, and lead the Electrical Engineering department.

- Provide technical leadership on electrical building systems projects.

- Lead projects from concept through construction.

- Oversee project schedules, budgets, quality, and client satisfaction.

- Perform QA/QC reviews of engineering deliverables.

- Design and review electrical systems including:
- Power Distribution

- Lighting Systems

- Fire Alarm Systems

- Emergency Power

- Life Safety Systems

- Coordinate closely with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, contractors, and clients.

- Mentor Electrical Engineers, Designers, and EITs as the team grows.





- Support business development and strengthen client relationships.

- Develop departmental standards, best practices, and engineering processes.

- Conduct occasional site visits during construction.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

- P.Eng. designation (Ontario) or eligibility to obtain it.

- Minimum 10 years of Building Engineering consulting experience.

- Proven experience delivering electrical building systems projects from design through construction.

- Strong knowledge of
- Ontario Building Code (OBC)

- Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC)

- Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)

- Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.

- Valid driver's licence.
