Fire Alarm Technicians
As a FSP Technician you will perform the full extent of what a CFAA offers a client: fire alarm to security installation, service and inspection. We provide FSP University to support your growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Testing, inspecting, verifying and servicing fire alarm systems and devices.
- Searching for all levels of experience in fire alarm and security installation, service, and inspection.
- Inspecting installation sites and studying work orders, building plans and installation manuals to determine material requirements and installation procedures.
- Demonstrating systems for customers and explaining details, such as the causes and consequences of false alarms.
- Testing and repairing circuits and sensors following wiring and system specifications.
- Following local and national security standards.
- Must have a CFAA License.
- Must be a member in good standing of UA Local 853 or be willing to become a member.
- Demonstrating ability and desire to learn all facets of the CFAA Technician role in fire alarm and security.
- Prior experience with monitoring systems, emergency lighting systems and security systems preferred.
- Experience with Siemens and/or Mircom ESD preferred.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Customer‑oriented mentality.
- Ability to work within the territory and surrounding areas.
Physical Requirements
- Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing ladders, scaffolding and high‑lift equipment up to 40 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces and above ceilings; stand for prolonged periods, lift 35 lbs and meet other common CFAA Technician requirements.
- Ability to work flexible schedule, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.
- Overnight travel may be required.
- Ability to differentiate color coding of cables.
