The person who holds the position of Specialist - Operations - Regional Carriers reports to the Director - Regional Carriers and Markets and ensures the supervision of activities within Air Canada's partner regional carriers (e.g., Jazz and PAL Airlines), by promoting efficiency gains on structural, operational and commercial levels within the framework of capacity purchase agreements. They are responsible for the design and implementation of operational improvement programs aimed at ensuring safety and optimizing on-time performance results, while ensuring the alignment of regional partners with long-term commercial strategies or relating to the network and the air fleet. The person holding this position acts as a central integration agent and translates strategy into sustainable operational performance while ensuring compliance with cost control principles.

Responsibilities

- Lead current regional carrier expansion and transition projects, ensuring launch timelines and capacity plans are met.
- Conduct audits at Air Canada hubs and identify causes of inefficiency.
- Act as an internal champion for all Air Canada regional carriers.
- Establish and maintain relationships with all Jazz and Air Canada operations departments.
- Develop and maintain audit procedures for regional carrier operations centers and hubs to monitor performance.
- Lead operational improvement initiatives at the Air Canada Express hub in YTZ, with the support of Jazz, Airports and Airport authorities.
- Develop guides on current regional carrier requirements and service standards, with the aim of ensuring their operational and commercial integrity.
- Progressively develop a comprehensive knowledge of the various aspects of managing a regional carrier (operational, commercial, financial, contractual and community relations).
- Provide assistance in all contractual aspects of relations with regional carriers,



particularly with regard to regional finances and fleet.
- Lead internal and external review meetings on the financial and operational aspects of the CAC.
- Implement uniform reporting measures for regional carriers and industry comparison reports.
- Maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including airport authorities.
- Represent Air Canada in regional markets across the Air Canada network.
- Lead large-scale multi-year operational improvement initiatives for all regional carriers.
- Provide daily oversight of capacity purchase agreements to ensure contractual provisions, assets and labor models are fully utilized to maximize value for Air Canada.
- Act as the primary guardian of capacity purchase agreement performance, identifying structural inefficiencies, risks and opportunities, and recommending corrective or improvement measures.
- Coordinate the response to safety incidents and recurring problems, in collaboration with Air Canada Safety and the carriers.
- Establish and integrate new operational processes within regional partners to improve efficiency, predictability and accountability.
- Act as a key integrator between Network Planning, regional partners, Air Canada Maintenance and Finance to summarize changes and translate them into concrete actions.
- Develop compelling profitability analyses, presentations and communications for senior management to support decision-making, as well as the standardization and adoption of transformation initiatives.
- Clearly and rigorously communicate risks, constraints and delivery difficulties to senior levels, proposing solutions and trade-offs to senior management.
- Perform other assigned tasks.

Qualifications

- University degree in business administration, aviation management,



or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- At least five years of experience in the air transport industry or other relevant experience.
- Strong interest in the business model and the regional carrier sector.
- Ability to lead nuanced discussions on complex issues involving multiple organizations.
- Ability to see the big picture, good storytelling skills through data, and an entrepreneurial approach to tasks and projects.
- In-depth knowledge of business performance and reporting.
- Ability to build a cohesive project framework while managing the involvement of internal and external stakeholders.
- Autonomy, proven interpersonal skills and initiative.
- Demonstrated change management skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- Great comfort with the financial aspects of air transport.
- Experience in finance or accounting, an asset.
- Well-established network of contacts within Air Canada's commercial departments and operations groups, an asset.
- Be punctual and reliable to support the overall success of the team in a fast-paced environment.
