Senior Interior Designer - Corporate Commercial
Our client, a well-established commercial interior design firm in Toronto is looking to add a Senior Interior Designer to their team. This is a full-time permanent position and is paying $70-90k as well as a competitive benefits and vacation package. Hybrid work model.
Job/Technical Competence:
- Ability to execute all Project Lead activities with high level of accuracy and competency for projects of all sizes, scope, and difficulty.
- Prepare proposals and RFP’s as required, attend sales pitch meetings and promote company services to customers and potential customers.
- Lead concept development, storytelling, and design direction to ensure projects reflect client vision and expectation
- Ability to consult clients with regards to Workplace strategies and trends.
- Be a creative resource within the studio, sharing ideas and concepts.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of materials, finishes, furnishings and emerging industry innovations to inform design excellence
- Proven ability to manage and complete multiple projects, priorities and workflows with a high level of accuracy and creativity while managing schedules and client budgets.
- Thorough understanding of OBC, and a resource on the fire code, building code and barrier-free design. On track to complete BCIN Complex Buildings.
- Responsible for reviewing all drawings and details produced by team and consultants prior to issuing to client and/or issuing for peer review for both permit and tender.
- Ability to consistently execute detailed, complete working drawing packages with minimal markups from peer reviews.
- Conduct peer review of other studio members’ drawings and design solutions.
Execution – Utilization/Realization:
- Responsible for utilization and realization metrics for team, project profitability, resource allocation, and fee utilxation to ensure financial health of assigned projects
- Implement internal quality control processes to ensure design accuracy, compliance and consistency across deliverables
- Adhering to administrative requirements, including timesheets and expenses.
- Ability to manage workload, project timelines, and deliverables on multiple projects at once, whilst giving guidance, support, and training to team members
Client/Stakeholder Management:
- High level of customer service, proactive communication, and initiative with clients.
- Manage client portfolios – Cultivate long-term client relationships and identify opportunities for account growth and repeat business
- Prepare proposals and RFPs, lead sales pitch meetings, and promote company services to all clients/potential clients.
- Ability to predict risks and proactively problem-solve client or internal team conflict, and resolve issues through creative resolutions
- Implements and complies with all organizational and operating policies and procedures.
- Initiate or participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes, enhance the customer experience, and increase customer service and productivity within the design team.
