Senior Instrumentation Engineer Full time Posting Date
Director, Instrumentation Engineering We are recruiting for a Senior Instrumentation Engineer. This full‑time position is based in Vancouver, British Columbia. Deliver instrumentation engineering services that meet client and statutory requirements on time and within budget.
Lead the execution of instrumentation and control engineering activities on assigned projects. Support project planning and delivery, including meetings, progress reports, and quality assurance procedures. Ensure project scope is clearly defined and changes are managed following project change management processes.
Provide technical input during procurement, construction, and commissioning phases, including requisitions, bid evaluations, and vendor documentation review. Coordinate instrumentation engineering activities with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated project delivery. Support the development and technical review of instrumentation engineering deliverables.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and project stakeholders. Proactively identify technical issues and risks, develop solutions, and escalations when needed.
Demonstrated experience delivering instrumentation and control engineering work on industrial projects (e.g., energy, mining, chemicals, infrastructure).
Working knowledge of engineering systems, workflows, and document management tools (SAP, KMS, or equivalent project systems).
Experience in process safety and operability studies (HAZOP, LOPA) and implementation into engineering design. Understanding of project scope definition, workshare execution, and the impacts of TA/NTA execution models. Solid experience in instrumentation and control engineering roles on multidisciplinary projects. Ability to develop, review, and interpret I&C; designs, drawings, and technical documentation.
