We're looking to fill an opening for a Senior Manager, Advisor Learning & Development, to join our Learning and Development team. In partnership with the Director, Learning and Development, the Senior Manager, Advisor Learning & Development is responsible for leading a small team and personally contributing to the design, development, and delivery of high‑impact learning programs for our Credit Union Advisors and their teams.
This is a player/coach role that blends hands‑on curriculum and facilitation work with people leadership to build technical capability and sales effectiveness required to deliver comprehensive wealth advice to members. You will apply up-to-date adult learning methodologies and leverage the LMS and learning technologies to create practical, engaging experiences that improve learner confidence, accelerate time to proficiency, and support knowledge transfer. Through strong partnership with internal partners, you will translate learning needs into prioritized plans, measure outcomes, and continuously improve programs that enhance advisor and client experience.
You'll work closely with Credit Union Wealth Leaders, Sales Enablement, Relationship Directors, Compliance/Registrations, Service Centre and Operations teams, and internal project/change partners to ensure learning is relevant, compliant, and adopted. Success looks like strong participation rate in non‑mandatory programs, faster advisor proficiency, improved learner satisfaction, measurable reductions in errors (e.g., You seek out diverse perspectives, share your knowledge and work together to help colleagues, clients and partners succeed Lead end‑to‑end design, development, and delivery of the advisor curriculum (hands‑on), including scoping learning objectives, understanding target audiences, determining delivery approaches, and producing required learning assets reference guides, newsletters, technical papers, articles, process maps, best practices, FAQs), ensuring content remains current based on feedback, satisfaction results, and regulatory/operational changes Continuously improve learning experiences by identifying and implementing enhanced delivery techniques and modalities (virtual/in‑person/self‑directed), leveraging learning technologies,
and measuring effectiveness Lead and coach a team of learning professionals (player/coach): set goals, assign and prioritize work, provide feedback and development support, and remove roadblocks to deliver high‑quality learning solutions Act as a learning consultant to internal partners: conduct intake, diagnose needs, translate requirements into prioritized learning plans, and use performance indicators (e.g., market trends, NIGO/not‑in‑good‑order and escalation themes) to recommend solutions that improve individual and organizational performance Ensure learning programs and materials adhere to compliance and regulatory requirements for training licensed individuals across our credit union partners A post‑secondary degree in an associated field of study; Business, Education, Accounting etc. 5+ years of progressive experience in adult education / learning & development in the financial services industry ~5+ years of experience in financial planning/advisory or a related financial services role is preferred ~Experience assessing needs and designing and developing learning programs using modern learning techniques ~ Knowledge of LMS capabilities to recommend delivery strategies and create engaging end‑user experience ~ Experience with Articulate 360 eLearning design tools, Learning Management software, and Knowledge Management tools is preferred ~ Ability to manage projects within prescribed timeframes and budgets ~ Proven analytical/problem‑solving skills to interpret data, identify implications, and provide recommendations and solutions ~ Change management experience and/or certification is an asset ~ Fluent communication skills in English are required and bilingual skills in French are an asset Excellent health, dental and insurance benefits to meet the diverse needs of our employees Generous vacation time, fitness benefit,
