ACCOUNTABLE TO: Director of Planning and Priorities

Brief Overview:

The Senior Policy Analyst, Planning and Priorities, works under the direction of the Director of Planning and Priorities to support MN-S strategic planning, priority-setting, implementation, monitoring, and cross-government coordination. This role provides senior-level policy, planning, research, engagement, and project support for priorities emerging from elected leadership, senior leadership, Regions, Locals, and approved MN-S plans. The position supports evidence-based decision-making by preparing briefing materials, conducting needs assessments, coordinating priority projects, developing governance and planning resources, and helping translate approved strategies into implementation and monitoring frameworks. The Senior Policy Analyst may also support the Locals Unit where needed,



including by taking a technical lead on governance resource development and ensuring assigned work advances in coordination with the Locals Unit Manager and the Director of Planning and Priorities.

Key Responsibilities:

Planning, Priorities, and Evidence-Based Analysis:

- Conduct research and analysis to support MN-S strategic planning, priority-setting, implementation, monitoring, and reporting processes.
- Prepare evidence-based briefing materials, options analyses, discussion papers, reports, and recommendations for the Director of Planning and Priorities, senior leadership, and elected officials.
- Analyze policies, legislation, programs, governance matters, and emerging issues to assess implications for MN-S, Regions, Locals, and Métis citizens.

Needs Assessment and Support:

- Support the design, coordination, analysis, and reporting of needs assessments to identify priorities,
