Heavy Equipment Mechanic – Contractor

Job Summary:

Join us at our family owned and operated Placer Gold Mine outside of Dawson City, Yukon until October of 2026 as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic. This is a seasonal position hiring multiple candidates. Successful candidates will have their own service truck and be willing to travel to remote locations outside of Dawson City, YT.

We have a large fleet of Heavy Machinery across 3 remote Placer Gold Mines.
Excavators (CAT 245, 349, 390 Volvo 220,480,700,750)
Articulated Rock Trucks (Cat 740, 745, Volvo A35, A40)
Dozers (CAT D6-10)
Loaders (CAT 988, Volvo L220G, L250H, L260H, L250H)
Graders (CAT 16G)
John Deere, Generac Gensets and Generators
Kenworth and Western Star Semi’s

And more…

Requirements:
-Cat SIS, Volvo Prosis, John Deere Service Advisor and any other diagnostic tools necessary for the above noted machines
-Mobile service truck with crane, welder and full toolkit
5yrs Experience
WCB Clearance to work in The Yukon Territory

Responsibilities:




-Work alongside other Heavy Duty Mechanics to limit downtime
Perform preventative maintenance and SOS oil sampling
Inspect and diagnose machines
Keeps records of parts ordered and work done
Create and maintain respectful working relationships with office team

We are ONLY hiring contractors with fully operational service trucks at this time.

This is a camp position with a 12 day on, 2 days off shift. Shift may vary for contractors. Camp accommodations include a private room, shared wash facilities and a dining hall providing 3 meals a day.

Wages to be discussed based on your hourly rate and equipment provided.

11hrs/day, 77hrs/week.

Pay: $80.00-$125.00 per hour
