REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Security and Facilities

QUALIFICATIONS

1. High School graduate or equivalent
2. Training and skill demonstrated in maintenance of school buildings, including repair of mechanical devices, electrical and plumbing items, carpentry skills and carpeting/floor tile installation skills.
3. Possess a valid Michigan driver's license.
4. Possess valuable public relations skills.
5. Ability of lift, move and carry 50 pounds.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES





- Report to Facilities Director who is responsible for the direction of housekeeping services in the facility.
- Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures.
- Clean, dust and nwipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers; replace light bulbs; refill restroom dispensers.
- Assist with the set up of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, events, etc.
- Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets.
- Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.
- Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments.
- Lock and unlock assigned buildings: secure buildings when facilities are not in use checking for unlocked doors and windows, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights.
- Follow insturctions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
- Perform cleaning and related activities such as removing snow or debris from sidewalks and stairs in areas within sixteen feet of buildings using hand-operated tools or small power equipment.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an incidental basis.
- Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. Clean blinds. Launder cleaning rags and dust mops.
- Attend to emergencies when necessary.
- Handle recycling materials.
- Assist in inverntory control and security.
- Safely operate all vehicles and other job related equipment.
- Perform other related duties as required.
