Position Overview

As part of our Retail team, the Assistant Manager is responsible for creating a client experience that accurately reflects the ethos of our brand while building and maintaining strong client relationships and driving sales through outstanding service.

Responsibilities

- Meet and exceed individual and store baseline goals for personal sales and KPI metrics inclusive of conversion, DPT, UPT and Client Data Capture.
- Display a good sense of initiative, plan and prioritize, demonstrate strategic thinking, and champion change effectively.
- Take pride in work and strive for excellence.
- Take responsibility for performance, complete all assigned tasks and meet deadlines.
- Help teach others training content through consistent role‑play and coaching, and monitor and assist the Store Manager with training and development for store associates.
- Coach and provide feedback, articulate strengths, goals, and opportunities, and foster a 360‑degree coaching culture.
- Assist the Store Manager in recruiting and networking to ensure hiring of high-caliber team members and maintain an active bench of potential candidates.
- Exercise strong written and verbal communication skills, adapt communication upwards, laterally and to the team, and promote the organization’s goals while adapting flexibly to change.
- Demonstrate ethical conduct, remain calm and deescalate situations, and collaborate effectively with the team.




- Assist the Store Manager with managing the store schedule, timecards and payroll, and maintain Tumi University training compliance.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
- Ensure the store follows visual guidelines and directives, and enforce excellent client services through the use of client books, thank-you cards and event strategies to create a consistent superior client experience.
- Maintain visual merchandising and client experience standards.

Qualifications

- Understands the TUMI brand and has a true passion for lifestyle, clients and product assortment.
- Values a collaborative setting and is open to feedback.
- Capable physically of standing, walking, lifting or pushing boxes up to 30 pounds and using a ladder to complete job duties.
- Has robust sales and client experience, preferably in the luxury market.
- Demonstrates proven success in meeting sales goals and achieving KPIs.
- Has flexible availability to work nights, weekends, mornings and holidays as needed.
- Has a strong sense of integrity and can lead by example.
- Possesses strong time-management skills.
