Overview
We are seeking a friendly and detail-oriented Grocery Associate to join our retail team in our Asian Grocery Store. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, maintaining store merchandising, and ensuring a smooth shopping experience for all customers. The ideal candidate will possess robust communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for retail sales. Bilingual or multilingual skills are a plus, as they enhance our ability to serve diverse customers. Responsibilities
Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
Operate POS systems for cashiering and cash handling transactions accurately
Restock shelves and organize products to ensure attractive merchandising displays
Conduct product demos and upsell items to maximize sales opportunities
Provide knowledgeable assistance on product locations and features
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store environment
Handle customer inquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
Manage time effectively to ensure all tasks are completed within scheduled shifts
Support inventory management through stock rotation and monitoring product levels
Qualifications
Excellent communication skills, including phone etiquette and customer service experience
Basic math skills for cash handling and POS transactions
Robust organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently
Previous retail sales or merchandising experience is preferred but not required
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
Bilingual or multilingual abilities are advantageous for serving diverse customers
Demonstrated time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively
Friendly attitude with a focus on teamwork and customer satisfaction
