Stonehammer Diesel & Automotive Repair is a busy, independent, diesel-focused shop serving Okotoks and surrounding communities. We repair the vehicles people rely on every day—from Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax diesel pickups to gas cars, trucks, SUVs, and fleet vehicles.

We're looking for an experienced Automotive Service Advisor with strong diesel knowledge who can confidently build repair estimates, communicate technical information clearly, and keep a busy shop operating efficiently.

This is not an entry-level customer service position. Previous Service Advisor experience in an automotive or diesel repair environment is required.

A major part of this role is preparing accurate repair estimates from technician findings, presenting those recommendations to customers in a way they understand, and helping them make informed repair decisions.

What You'll Be Working On

- Greeting customers and managing repair orders from vehicle intake through final invoicing
- Building accurate repair estimates from technician inspection reports and diagnostic findings
- Reviewing technician recommendations and preparing complete customer quotes
- Explaining complex diesel and automotive repairs in clear, easy-to-understand language




- Obtaining customer authorization for repairs and answering questions with confidence
- Acting as the primary liaison between customers and technicians
- Scheduling work and helping prioritize shop workflow to maximize efficiency
- Supporting technicians with accurate documentation and communication
- Following repairs from estimate through completion while keeping customers informed
- Helping maintain an organized, professional, and efficient front-end operation
- Providing exceptional customer service—even during difficult conversations or unexpected repair situations

What We're Looking For
- Minimum two years experience as an Automotive or Diesel Service Advisor
- Strong working knowledge of diesel pickup trucks, including Power Stroke, Cummins, and Duramax platforms
- Experience preparing accurate repair estimates using technician inspection reports
- Experience quoting repairs, labour, and parts with minimal supervision
- Ability to explain technical repairs to customers in explicit, easy-to-understand terms
- Comfortable handling upset or frustrated customers while remaining calm, professional, and solution-focused
- Strong understanding of automotive repair processes, diagnostics, and service procedures
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills in a fast-paced shop environment
- Team-oriented attitude with strong follow-through and accountability




- Experience with Protractor Shop Management software is a strong asset and will be given preference
- Valid Class 5 driver's licence

This Position May Not Be the Right Fit If You
- Have never worked as an Automotive or Diesel Service Advisor
- Don't have diesel repair knowledge
- Have never prepared repair estimates or customer quotes
- Prefer scripted sales over technical problem solving
- Struggle in a fast-paced repair shop environment
- Prefer working independently rather than collaborating with technicians to solve customer concerns
