Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Technician to oversee daily operations and ensure the highest standards of service and quality. The ideal candidate will possess "can do", a background in the transportation industry including a class 1 or 3 license, and attention to detail. This role involves many different responsibilities, coordinating tasks, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment to meet the shop and client needs. Responsibilities
Wash, clean, and inspect equipment in the yard.
Coordinate daily schedules, assign tasks, and monitor progress to meet deadlines
Organize and arrange the yard to ensure maximum efficiency
Shunt equipment in yard and to nearby yards as required.
Handle seasonal challenges such as snow removal and grass cutting.
Communicate effectively with shop to understand their needs and address any concerns
Maintain safety protocols and ensure compliance with health regulations
Assist with cleaning duties when necessary to support team operations
Manage inventory of supplies and equipment, ensuring proper usage and maintenance
Other responsibilities as assigned and needed.
Qualifications
Proven experience in transportation, maintenance shop, or related field, with a robust understanding of heavy equipment.
A Class 1 or Class 3 license.
Leadership experience preferred
Ability to lift 30-50lbs
Robust organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
Ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
Good communication skills, both verbal and written
Reliable transportation and the ability to work flexible hours as needed

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
