We are seeking a dedicated Outreach Worker to join our Bancroft team. In this role, you will serve as a vital link between our organization and the community, promoting programs, building relationships, and supporting various initiatives. Responsibilities
Connect members of vulnerable populations with social services and other compassion related services in the area.
Work closely with security to de-escalate situations and manage interpersonal issues amongst clients.
Use a centralized database software (HIFIS) for statistical data entry
Maintain supply of necessary inventory of on-site supplies
Build relationships and repour with members of vulnerable communities using the shelter service
Co-ordinate with security guards to document and report any security related issues or events
Assist with cleaning the facility and ensuring a secure, clean and friendly environment is maintained at all times.
Collaborate with stakeholders to identify community needs and develop tailored solutions
Learn and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures as written for the site
Skills
Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
Experience in compassion related services working with vulnerable communities
Public speaking skills capable of engaging diverse audiences
Data collection skills for tracking outreach metrics and outcomes and completing reports
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, addiction issues and trauma related mental illness
