Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, servicing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery equipment at our worksites. This role requires solid mechanical expertise, hands-on experience with various tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced workplace. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic Apprentice will ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably, supporting our operational needs across multiple site.

Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair heavy equipment such as excavators and backhoes.
Perform routine preventative maintenance and inspections to prevent breakdowns and extend equipment lifespan.
Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues.
Conduct welding, assembly, and replacement of parts using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment.
Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper functioning.




Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance activities, and parts used.
Collaborate with team members to ensure safety protocols are followed during all repair activities.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and environmental regulations during all repair procedures.

Skills
Proven experience in dealership or industrial equipment repair with experience with excavators.
Solid mechanical knowledge.
Hands-on experience with welding, assembly, and use of hand tools and power tools.
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when necessary.
Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in diagnosing issues accurately.
The ability to communicate effectively with team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Pay: $30.00-$34.00 per hour
