Join School District No. 10 as a School Counsellor for the school year at Nakusp Elementary. This half-time role focuses on delivering social-emotional learning and supporting student mental health.
The 0.5 FTE position is structured to enhance student well-being and resilience within a vibrant learning community. You will provide preventive and responsive mental health services and coordinate support with community agencies. Successful candidates will have experience in teaching and counselling, contributing to a collaborative educational workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver social-emotional learning (SEL) classroom instruction
• Coordinate school-based mental health services effectively
• Facilitate referrals and collaborate with community partners




• Assess students' social and emotional needs using FBAs
• Build positive relationships with students and parents
Requirements:
• Valid BC Teaching Certificate required
• Master’s degree in counselling psychology or related field
• At least 3 years of successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures
• Experience with SOGI 123 curricula and SEL integration
