Join Somerset West Community Health Centre as a Needle Exchange and Safer Inhalation Harm Reduction Outreach Worker. Help improve health outcomes for people who use drugs through proactive engagement and trauma-informed services.
As a Counsellor Level 2, you will be a critical part of the NESI program aimed at reducing the transmission of HIV and Hepatitis through harm reduction. Your role will include crisis response, advocacy, and coordinating follow-ups for clients in various settings. You’ll work closely with interdisciplinary teams while participating in community education and support initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Engage proactively with people who use drugs
• Distribute harm reduction and safer inhalation supplies
• Provide trauma-informed care and crisis support
• Collaborate with community agencies for client health
• Document interactions and enter program data accurately
Requirements:
• Three years’ experience with high-risk populations
• Post-secondary education or relevant lived experience
• Fluency in English, French an asset
• Solid knowledge of STBBI and harm reduction strategies
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
