Canada’s National Ballet School (NBS) is seeking an experienced Ballet Teacher to deliver Ballet and Women’s Technique & Pointe classes within the Young Dancers Program.
Key Responsibilities Teach Ballet and Women’s Technique & Pointe classes using the NBS curriculum.
Create an inclusive, engaging learning environment that supports technical, artistic, and personal growth.
Adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs and provide constructive feedback.
Rehearse and prepare students for performances and presentations.
Assist with Intensive Ballet Program auditions as assigned.
Maintain attendance, assessments, and student progress records.
Collaborate with faculty and program leadership to support curriculum delivery and student development.
Attend meetings and career development and uphold NBS policies and safeguarding standards.
Qualifications Minimum 5 years of ballet teaching experience.
Robust expertise in classical ballet, Women’s Technique & Pointe.
Excellent classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Collaborative, student-centred approach with a commitment to inclusion and artistic excellence.
Dance degree and/or teaching certification is an asset.
Contract Part time, September 1, 2026 – August 20, 2027 | $50–$70/hour.
Shortlisted candidates will be asked to submit a 10–20-minute unedited teaching video. A Vulnerable Sector Check is required.
