With a first-class faculty and alumni in over 80 countries who are part of more than 40 Christian denominations, Regent College has gained an international reputation for excellence in theological education.Position Summary:Reporting to the College President, the Director of Finance is responsible to direct, maintain and manage the finances and financial systems of the College. The Director of Finance must be able to routinely communicate with a wide variety of stakeholders and is a member of the Senior Administrative Leadership Team.Salary range: $130,000-$155,000 per yearKey Responsibilities:Responsible for financial oversight of four legal entities: Regent College (primary), two foundations and a charitable trustProvide accurate and timely financial information for internal and external audiencesPrepare the annual College and Foundation budgets and operational forecastsAssist in designing, preparing and executing on the strategic planning process, including financial forecasts and modelsOversee a staff of 3.5 FTE (full-time equivalents): Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Payroll Administrator, Receptionist/Finance Clerk, and Bookstore ManagerCoordinate and manage the annual audit for the four entitiesLiaise with the College Treasurer and Foundation Board Chair to ensure consistent meetings of the Finance Committee and Foundation Boards, record minutes at meetings, provide reports to committee members and ensure that all motions and approvals required are obtainedPrepare reports for submission to the Board of Governors,



attend board meetings and give financial updates and presentations at meetingsProvide accurate maintenance of all accounting systems and processes to ensure adequate internal controlsLiaise with regulatory agencies to ensure both compliance and reporting requirements are metManage College funds, bank accounts, loans and investmentsOversee the strategic direction of the Regent College BookstoreOversee College insurance policyOversee and act as Regent College Pension AdministratorLiaise with Financial Aid Officer to ensure compliance with US Department of Education for US student loans is adhered toLiaise with the Advancement Office to ensure gifts are recorded in correct funds including compliance of fund stipulations for donor restricted fundsAssist in preparation of legal contracts with various service providersOversee document retention and disposal of all financial documentsMaintain subject matter expertise in not-for-profit accounting for the charitable sectorQualifications:Understands the mission and vision of Regent College and must be able to subscribe to Regent College’s Theological Position (which includes a Doctrinal Statement and a Moral Vision Statement)A Canadian CPA designation is required7-10 years Canadian accounting experience and a minimum of 5 years supervisory experience are requiredSuperior leadership, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skillsExceptional organizational and project management skillsDemonstrated experience in supervision and managing senior level relationshipsResults focused and the demonstrated ability to think strategicallyIntrinsically motivated with the proven ability to support current initiativesExperience with Canadian charities and in a post‑secondary setting would be considered an assetHigh proficiency with Microsoft Office (specifically Excel); Google Suite; Microsoft Dynamics GP; and SIS systems would be considered an assetApplication Process:Applications must include a CV and a cover letter with specifics including eligibility to work in Canada.
