Join Klinic Community Health as a Crisis Counsellor in the Hummingbird Program, offering essential support through crisis lines and in-person advocacy. This role requires expertise in trauma-informed care and crisis intervention.
As a part of the Hummingbird team, you will provide crisis counselling to those impacted by sexual and intimate partner violence. Your contributions will be instrumental at various medical facilities in Winnipeg, including the Health Sciences Centre. Mentoring current volunteer advocates and ensuring adherence to best practices will also form part of your role, highlighting your skills within a supportive team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis counselling and support via crisis lines
• Mentor current advocates in the SACP program
• Assess needs and risks for callers effectively
• Chart services accurately as per Klinic’s procedures
• Participate in training courses for quality service improvement
Requirements:
• Current member of the SACP program preferred
• Completion of ASIST training required
• Satisfactory background checks mandatory
• Ability to work flexible hours
• Crisis Worker Certification required within a year
