Saskatoon Public Schools is seeking candidates with specialized knowledge in investments or pension administration. As an Independent Trustee, you will oversee the administration and investments of a defined-perk pension plan serving non-teaching employees. Regular meetings occur five times a year to ensure governance and performance align with funding policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Appoint and evaluate service providers for plan administration
• Develop and maintain robust governance policies
• Ensure financial performance meets risk and benefit policies
• Monitor the performance of the Pension Fund investments
• Provide annual updates and recommendations to the Saskatoon Board of Education
Requirements:
• Board experience is preferred
• Knowledge in defined-benefit pension or investment industry
• Commitment to volunteering for a four-year term
• Ability to attend five meetings annually
• Nominal stipend available for trustees
