This term position is instrumental in conducting prosecutions within the Public Prosecution Service mandate. Responsible for advising law enforcement and prosecuting criminal cases, you will be held accountable to the Chief Crown Attorney. Ideal candidates will possess a solid understanding of criminal procedures and at least one year of criminal litigation experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct criminal prosecutions based on law enforcement investigations
• Advise law enforcement agencies on legal matters
• Represent the Crown in Provincial or Superior Court
• Collaborate with the Chief Crown Attorney on directives
• Travel to various locations within the Western Region
Requirements:
• Member of the Nova Scotia Barristers' Society or eligible
• Minimum one year of criminal litigation experience
• Competence in substantive criminal law and evidence
• Willingness to travel for court coverage
• Ability to provide a current Certificate of Standing
