Our client, a leading consultancy in the rail industry, is seeking a Systems Integration Specialist to join their Rail and Transit team in Toronto. This is a permanent position where you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of urban mobility by integrating complex systems for a major urban rail extension project, ensuring seamless coordination between new-build infrastructure and operational transit lines.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver systems integration strategies that align with progressive design-build milestones and revenue service goals
Lead interface resolution workshops with designers, contractors, and operators to ensure interoperability and compliance
Develop and maintain Systems Architecture, Interface Control Documents, and Integration Oversight Processes
Support verification and validation activities to confirm integrated design compliance with industry standards and client expectations
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a robust technical team culture
Job Requirements:
Experience in systems integration within the rail industry
Bachelor’s degree in Systems, Electrical, Mechanical, or related engineering discipline; P.Eng or EIT designation required
Expertise in systems lifecycle management (V-model), interface definition, and testing alignment
Familiarity with ISO/IEC 15288, IEEE 1220, and CENELEC standards; INCOSE ASEP/CSEP certification is an asset
Hands-on experience with IBM Rational DOORS and requirements management tools
Strong knowledge of subsystems such as SCADA, signalling, traction power, and communications
