The Educational

Assistant - Sign role requires solid communication and sign language skills to support students with hearing impairments in various learning settings. Ideal candidates will utilize techniques that foster academic and life skills development.

Responsibilities include assisting with mobility, personal care, and implementing specialized educational strategies. Key Responsibilities:

- Provide support as recommended by therapy professionals
- Transfer and lift students using safe techniques
- Assist with toileting, changing and dressing




- Implement Student Safety Plans under supervision
- Support students during excursions and in classroom settings Requirements:
- Two-year college diploma in Educational Assistant Program
- Six months to one year related experience
- Level 2 Signing completion (minimum course 203)
- Current Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) Certification
- Police records check with Vulnerable Sector Search required Bring proficiency in sign language and compassion to improve student experiences in KPR classrooms.
