Your Role
We are seeking an Intermediate Human Factors Engineer for our Pickering, ON office.
Responsibilities
Human Factors (HF) Specialists apply the knowledge of human capabilities and limitations to the design of systems and equipment.
Human Factors Engineering ensures that the system and design are compatible with the sensory, perceptual, cognitive and physical attributes of the personnel who operate, maintain and support the system.
HF Specialists work as part of multi‑discipline teams to analyze information and evaluate existing and proposed designs under the following frameworks: CNSC G-276, CNSC G-278, NUREG 0711 and CSA N290.12.
Qualifications
University degree in Engineering or Science specializing in Human Factors Engineering or related discipline (e.g., systems engineering).
Registered Skilled Engineer (P.Eng) in Ontario or eligible for registration shortly.
5+ years of related working experience in a design workplace within the Canadian Nuclear Industry is considered an asset.
Must be able to work as part of a multi-disciplined team.
Must be able to obtain Canadian Federal security clearance.
Well‑developed technical writing and presentation skills.
Ability to work efficiently and effectively when managing multiple tasks.
Effective problem‑solving and critical thinking skills.
Demonstrated experience of working in a collaborative team environment.
Proven ability to be adaptable, adaptable and work under tight schedules in a fast‑paced setting.
Experience in an engineering consulting firm is considered an asset.
OPG or Bruce Power experience is considered an asset.
Compensation
The expected annual compensation range for this position is $95,000 to $135,000 per annum.
