The area features community services, sports, golf, and various events throughout the year.About The OpportunityWe are looking to hire aSenior Mine Engineerto join ourBell Creek MineinPorcupine, ON, on a full-time basis. The standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 hrs/day or 4 on, 3 off, 10 hrs/day. A hybrid on-site/remote schedule may be considered for the right candidate, with weekly on-site presence expected.In this role, the Senior Mine Engineer will carry out and oversee engineering tasks in mine planning, ground control, ventilation, longhole drill & blast, survey, and coordinate tasks with operational personnel to support production schedules.ResponsibilitiesSupervise, train and mentor planners, EITs, Mine Technicians and co-op students within the Engineering department.Provide technical leadership and operational expertise to the Engineering and Operations Team.Oversee, coordinate and prepare engineering deliverables including short/medium/long-term planning and scheduling, infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting.Assist with developing,
optimizing and implementing medium-term mine plans to meet budget and long-term objectives safely and economically.Develop, optimize, and implement long-term planning and scheduling (reserves and life of mine), infrastructure and ventilation designs, geotechnical analyses, reconciliations, and reporting.Facilitate daily and weekly planning meetings with key personnel to coordinate activities and meet goals.Assist in developing the annual mine site budget and quarterly forecasts with stakeholder support.Contribute to month-end engineering reports and stope reconciliations.Lead and coordinate special projects with Mine Operations and Contractors, including planning, scheduling and budgeting.Monitor compliance with applicable engineering codes, regulations, safety and environmental practices, and performance standards.Troubleshoot problems, analyze options, and implement solutions to keep mining on plan.Evaluate alternative ore extraction methods with cost-benefit analyses and present recommendations to the team.Contribute to policies and procedures within the Engineering department and Mine Operations.Participate in training, professional development and continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and maintain knowledge of current methods and technology relevant to mining engineering.Perform other duties as requested.QualificationsTo qualify, you will needProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Ontario(or be actively working toward it)
along with avalid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Aminimum of 5 years of underground hard rock mining experience(preferably gold) is essential. The following skills and background are highly valued:Experience supervising and mentoring engineering teams, including EITs, technicians, and co-op studentsStrong background in narrow-vein, longhole, and conventional mining methodsProficiency with Deswik, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel)Experience with underground water management, seismic systems, and paste fillStrong understanding of mine planning, scheduling, and engineering best practicesExperience working closely with operations teams in a production-focused environmentAs the ideal candidate, you are a solid leader and mentor with excellent communication and organizational skills.
