Overview

We are looking for a passionate, experienced tutor who has a robust background in English and can tutor high school students. Candidates should be familiar with the Ontario high school curriculum . Being able to tutor other high school subjects (i.e. French, Math, Science) is a bonus but not necessary. This position will be completely remote and all tutoring will be done online . Applicants should be currently enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's Degree in a related field of study OR your BEd .

Responsibilities

- Provide online English tutoring sessions through our online learning video platform to high-school students in Ontario




- Observe and evaluate a student's skill level to determine progress and work towards improvement with the help of our tutoring program
- Work alongside parents/guardians to create a personal academic plan or timeline for the student
- Help students in their area of need such as homework completion, getting ahead in class, learning new concepts, etc.
- Be able to relate to the students and act as a mentor to them

Qualifications

- Fluent in English
- Currently enrolled in or completed a Bachelor's Degree in your field of study or a B.Ed
- Prior tutoring or teaching experience in Ontario is required
- Good knowledge of the Ontario curriculum
- Have access to a computer with a webcam and a stable internet connection
- Be available during some weeknights (past 4 PM) and weekends
- Ability to tutor other subjects is a bonus
