Role Description

As a Software Engineer Intern at GenPark, you will support the design, development, and maintenance of backend services that power our agentic discovery platform. On a typical day, you will write and review code, implement new features, fix bugs, and help integrate APIs and services under the guidance of senior engineers. You will collaborate with cross-functional teammates to translate product requirements into technical tasks, participate in code reviews, and contribute to improving development tools and workflows.





You will also be encouraged to prototype current ideas, document your work clearly, and learn modern software engineering practices in an agile environment. This is an internship role based in Toronto, ON, with a hybrid work arrangement that combines in-office collaboration with the flexibility to work from home part of the time.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.

- Skills in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, with exposure to building and debugging web services or APIs.

- Programming experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go), with solid Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) fundamentals.

- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.

- Ability to work collaboratively in a hybrid environment, communicate clearly, and accept feedback constructively.

- Interest in AI, recommendation systems, or digital commerce; experience with cloud platforms, databases, or version control (e.g., Git) is an asset.
