WSP is looking for an AWIPS Developer skilled in Python and Java to optimize the AWIPS platform used for operational weather forecasting. You will engage in troubleshooting, development, and modernization efforts, working closely with meteorologists to ensure system effectiveness and operational impact. Your contributions will be crucial in maintaining and evolving the platform.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and enhance the AWIPS cloud workplace
• Develop custom plugins and utilities in Python/Java
• Ensure timely data ingestion from diverse sources




• Collaborate with domain experts for system improvements
• Document processes to support long-term development
Requirements:
• Solid programming experience in Python and/or Java
• Familiar with Linux operating systems
• Knowledge of meteorological data formats like GRIB and NetCDF
• Experience with ETL-style data ingestion
• Prior experience in time-sensitive operational systems is preferred
