Join Coastland College as a Specialist Support Assistant - Communication Support, focusing on enabling a profoundly deaf student's learning journey using BSL.

Your role is vital in bridging communication and supporting independence. In this part time position, you will work 18 hours per week throughout the academic year. You'll collaborate closely with teaching staff to foster learning, social interactions, and overall participation in college life. With a focus on Total Communication, your expertise will empower the student to gain confidence and vital communication skills for adulthood. Key Responsibilities:

- Facilitate effective communication through British Sign Language
- Promote independence in learning and social activities




- Support the student's personal development and confidence
- Collaborate with teaching staff to enhance educational access
- Foster inclusive environments for learning and engagement Requirements:
- Minimum BSL Level 3 qualification required
- Experience supporting deaf learners or individuals with communication needs
- Commitment to creating inclusive and supportive settings
- Ability to work effectively in a team
- Enhanced DBS disclosure required before starting Bring your BSL expertise and passion for inclusivity to Coastland College and make a difference in a student's life.
